The Stay Fit Seniors program is a unique combination of exercise, chiropractic,
and health education specifically designed for seniors to experience a more
active, healthier and longer life. We believe the Stay Fit Seniors program is the
true "Fountain of Youth." The Stay Fit Seniors program is a program of shared
responsibility by the Doctor of Chiropractic and the Stay Fit Seniors member.
The Chiropractor's responsibility is to help you gain and maintain a flexible and
healthy spine with good posture and the member's responsibility is to maintain a
strong and healthy body through regular exercise and proper nutrition.
Exercise Program - A doctor supervised 30-minute circuit training program
consisting of 7 strength-training stations and 7 aerobic stations. This program
is senior safe, easy to perform, and fun. Strength training is performed on
state-of-the-art exercise machines that are joint friendly and designed for you to
work at your own pace. The same exercise machines are used at the New
England Patriots training facility. The aerobic or walking stations are designed
to maintain heart rate and to rest muscles between strength training stations.
For best results and safety, it is recommended to perform the Stay Fit Seniors
exercise program a minimum of 2 times per week.
Chiropractic Care - The purpose of chiropractic care is to improve the integrity
and flexibility of the spine to gain and maintain a healthy upright posture and
enhance nerve function, thereby reducing the effects of spinal degeneration
(arthritis), pain and stiffness. Each Stay Fit Seniors member will have a
personal consultation and spinal examination by the doctor. The results of this
examination will be explained and a specific care plan will be recommended
depending upon your spinal health. Spinal correction care plans are designed
on an individual basis depending on the specific needs of each member. Spinal
correction is obtained through a series a chiropractic spinal "adjustments". The
chiropractic adjustment techniques are specific, low force, gentle and safe.
Once spinal correction has been established a spinal supportive care plan may
be recommended, typically at 1-2 "adjustments" per month.
